Frequently Asked Questions

What is the initial process to schedule a session?

Once you reach out, I will respond by the end of the next business day to answer any questions and schedule an appointment. You also have the option to book an initial consultation call to discuss any concerns before scheduling. Once your intake appointment is set, you’ll receive access to the client portal to complete the necessary paperwork.

What can I expect from my first session?

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and determine if we’re the right fit to work together. Whatever problems you may be facing, I understand that beginning therapy can be intimidating and that it takes courage and dedication to make changes. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a warm, genuine, and supportive space where you feel safe to express yourself.

For minors, sessions are typically divided to allow time with both the youth and their parent(s) separately, ensuring confidentiality and a balanced approach for everyone involved.

What about the sessions after that?

In our ongoing sessions, we will focus on the key concerns that are causing you distress and work toward your personal goals. Using a range of therapeutic techniques, we will collaborate on the areas that matter most to you, adjusting our approach based on your feedback and progress.

For minors, therapy incorporates activities, conversation, and games to create a comfortable and engaging environment where they can express themselves freely. I also work closely with parents during part of the session to build a strong foundation that nurtures their child’s growth and well-being.

What kind of clients do you work with?

I work with individuals who feel stuck or overwhelmed by life’s challenges and are seeking support, insight, and practical tools to navigate their struggles. Through therapy, I help clients develop coping skills, improve relationships, and shift unhelpful patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to achieve meaningful change.

My expertise includes treating mood disorders, anxiety, child and adolescent concerns, behavioral challenges, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and multicultural issues. I offer therapy in both English and Malayalam to ensure accessible and culturally attuned support.

What are your rates?

Each 50-minute therapy session is $220, and ADHD psychological testing is $1,150. I accept payment via cash, checks, and credit cards. I am in-network with Lyra insurance and can provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement. Sliding scale rates are available based on individual need.

What are your qualifications?

Bachelor of Science (Psychology) - University of Western Australia

Master of Psychology (Clinical) - Curtin University of Technology

Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) - California School of Professional Psychology

Do you prescribe medication?

No, I do not prescribe medication, as I am not a medical doctor. If you need a medication evaluation, I recommend consulting a psychiatrist or your primary care physician. In some cases, a combination of medication and therapy can be beneficial. If needed, I can collaborate with your doctor to ensure coordinated care once you have signed a release of information form.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours notice via email or phone call. After this window, the session will be charged as I am unable to fill your vacant session time without adequate notice.
